MANILA – The remains of box-office director Wenn Deramas and his sister Wawa were finally laid to rest on Sunday.

A Mass was held for the popular film and TV director at the Dolphy Theater at around 10 a.m. before the funeral convoy left the ABS-CBN compound a little before 12 noon.

Deramas’ remains were brought to his final resting place at the Himlayang Pilipino by his family, friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry including Vice Ganda, Eugene Domingo, BB Gandanghari, Gladys Reyes, Karla Estrada and Claudine Barretto.
Some of Deramas’ fans also waited at the cemetery to take part in the final tribute for the director.

Deramas, 49, died of cardiac arrest last February 29.
Deramas started his career as a production assistant, and also worked as a writer and executive producer.
His hit films include the “Ang Tanging Ina” series, “Petrang Kabayo,” “Sisterakas,” “Moron 5 and the Crying Lady,” “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” and the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, “Beauty and the Bestie.”
